back from france!! it was nice....but no a very relaxing vacation! a lot of driving on winding roads..
day 1: we drove via verona....spent an evening there...saw "Juliet's Balcony" ate at this really cute old wine restaurant (note: restaurants and food played an important part on this vacation so don't be surprised if i write a lot about it! we ate some of the best food ever at some of the best restaurants in France...hehe...yummy!!)
it's a really cute and roooomantic town!

day 2: left pretty early coz we had to drive a lot.....we drove to MONACO! ive always wanted to go there and it's soo cool! i mean i wouldn't live there because its crowded and touristy but it's nice to visit! and some really nice hotels/shops!
when we have our house in france it'll only be 2/3 hours away!!!
im inviting you to france! all of you better come and visit me when we get our house...we can go to the cote d'azur and monte carlo for a weekend trip!!! ok nuff bout that.
we got there latish so we didn't walk around that much....instead we went to have dinner at the best restaurant EVER!! it's called Louis XV--Alain Ducasse. it has 3 michelin stars (only one ive been to) and apparently the chef is the best in france or whatever...it was excellent...more waiters than tables so the service is also really good, not only the food.
they pull out the chairs for you and give you a little stool for your handbag. when you have to go to the bathroom and you stand up they rush over and help you...they escort you to the door (hold it open of course ) and blah blah....while you're gone they change your dirty napkin and put a fresh one...and they don't actually touch the napkin. the food was also really good...but after dessert...you're still not done. they bring you so much extra stuff you never ordered like chocolates, caramels, nougats, home-made marshmellows, ice cream.....amazing! then when you leave they give you a bag of pastries (only to the ladies...hehe)

hotel de paris--where Louis XV is...
day 3: we walked around monte carlo and monaco-ville (yes there are actually two "cities" in monaco) saw the palace and the town (ok most lambourginis, ferraris, bentleys, and rolls royces ive ever seen...)...then we left for Nice coz it started to rain...
got to nice. we stayed in negresco, which was founded by a romanian!! that's a cool hotel...each floor has a different theme (modern, 18th century, napoleon...etc) there was also a cat that wandered around....hehee!
mom and i walked around...got some cool pumas. we ate dinner at la rotonde (a restaurant decorated like a carousel)

day 4: we visited Saint Paul de Vence, a small hill-top village near Nice, which is really cute...a lot of art galleries and we got 2 paintings! we visited foundation maeght, this modern art museum. then we went back to nice and ate at Chantecler, the ** restaraunt in the hotel...ate a lot again....

day 5: we saw some friends in Antibes and then drove to Cannes...(latish again...) so we couldn't do much...stayed at Le Carlton..such a pretty building! we had dinner there and went to sleep!

day 6: walked around Cannes...it's a really nice beach town...want to go there when the water is warms! much cleaner than Nice...we're gonna go to Cannes for the film festival sometime and im gonna see someone famous...finally! (my friends and parents always see famous people...not me! closest i've gotten is staying in the same hotel room as them in bora bora...seriously! stef just saw avril lavigne, melody saw andreo bocelli, my mom saw anthony hopkins, both my parents saw alan rickman, allie was in an elevator with will smith, and sophie was in and elevator with meg ryan! my mom knows ethan hawke's mom and i still haven't met him!! i think it's my fate never to see them!! lol!)
oooo...i saw john kerry once in the four seasons but that before the elections so it doesn't count!
day 7-9: Aix en Provence...saw some nice houses....ate easter bunnie chocolate, and studied about imperialism.

a pretty house we saw...but too isolated
day 10-12: gordes...saw more houses in the luberon..didn't like any of them that much...some had really nice gardens/views though!

day 13: went to les baux! (ahhh memories from 2000) saw A LOT of houses...in a row...we found one that we really liked...we're gonna try and get it! hopefully...but i get to have a horse or pony and donkeys when we get a house there!! there's a lot of space and i can ride on the fields on our land! CAN'T WAIT!!!
----always loved icelandic ponies!
day14-15: drove to lausanne, stayed with ioanna...had fondue!! =P
